KC Canteen Spectacular Spanish Affair – Ole

July 27th, 2011 by karen

Having not been to KC Canteen before,  our excitement for the event was evident as we were the first to arrive!  The atmosphere built quickly during the evening with twitterati arriving in their droves and wine and beer on tap enjoyed all round

Seated at a casual long table the noise levels increased as plate after plate was delivered to the table:

Starters: chorizo in red wine & bay leaves, smoked yellowtail, peppers & anchovies and veal in red wine croquettes. All superb!!  Could not believe that was starters – these Spanish people can eat hey:)

Mains: Things reached “ridiculous” levels when 5 huge platters were brought to the table. Pork belly with fennel and calamari with squid ink were my winners for that round!! Lucky enough to enjoy the food with Lazanou White and Graham Beck’s The Game Reserve

Elize and Peter did themselves, and indeed, Spain, proud!!  Looking forward to the next one!
